Danish Mid-Century rosewood highboard credenza, model 54 by Kai Kristiansen for Schou Andersen. At the age of 26, designer Kai Kristiansen (born in 1929) established his own studio and started producing furniture in the style that would eventually be recognized as Danish modern. His designs were soon to be produced by the most famous Danish manufacturers of the time. This piece from his most productive period has sliding doors with shelving, red felt lined flatware drawers and lower drawers. It is in original condition with some visible wear consistent with its age and use.
