1960's Dutch Carnival Parade Heads - Large Poodle Face

Mid-Century unique and wonderfully fun large painted papier mache carnival head. This "Poodle Face" head resembles a poodle with a brown fur collar. Traditionally worn in the southern and eastern provinces of The Netherlands by the crowd in parades or processions during so called "Carnavalsstoeten". During this 3 to 6 day festival normal daily life comes to a near stop in those provinces. There are 9 different heads, listed separately (O298).
