This stunning chandelier by visionary German lighting designer Ingo Maurer is a triumph of ingenuity and creativity born out of circumstances: The Birds Birds Birds Chandelier came about in direct opposition to European legislation that was levelled against the efforts to diminish the use of the incandescent bulb. Ingo Maurer responded to the new legislature by creating a lower voltage halogen bulb, stating that the bulb is "greener than its predecessor, (possessing) the same frosty white light we have known and loved." In addition to the new bulb real goose feather wings help the concept take flight. This version is in very original condition with some visible wear and discoloration to the feathers. Still with original 220v transformer. Another with vibrant blue painted frame and real feathered wings available and listed separately (L716 BL).
