RAAK P-1412 Sculptural Milk Glass Wall Sconce by Sergio Asti, 1960s
Sergio Asti / Raak / Netherlands
Mid-Century, 1960's architectural milk glass wall mounted sconces by Sergio Asti. Sergio Asti, born in Milan in 1926, opened his office in 1953. His portfolio includes designs for architecture, furniture, lighting, and glass. In 1957, he won the gold medal at the Triennale in Milan, and in 1962, he received the Compasso d'Oro for a Salviati glass ('Marco'). This light was made for renowned Dutch lighting manufacturer Raak when Asti was part of its design team, a highlight in his body of work. The sconces are slightly different from each other. One of the sconces has a white painted metal ring mount. This sconce sits 1.5" from wall and is 7" deep overall. The other sconce has a spring loaded mount, sits 3/4" from the wall and is 6.25" deep overall. This one also has a small hole in the glass and can be purchased at 30% off. Other than that these are in good original condition. Sold individually.
