Kaiser Idell Style Black Enameled Metal Accordion Lamp by Hala Zeist

Hala Zeist / Netherlands

Extra large, 1960's Kaiser Idell style accordion lamp in black enameled metal with white cord. Produced by Dutch lighting manufacturer Hala. One of the first light firms in the Netherlands, Hala was founded in Zeist in 1932 and eventually relocated to Amersfoort. Hala was renowned for producing high-quality fixtures for the Dutch post-war market. Over the years the company developed some classics, such as their desk lamp "De 144" and the acclaimed "Pinocchio." The company always aimed to create distinctive and eye-catching fixtures, both with their own design department and with their partnering designers. This light is a great example of how successful they were in their pursuit of that goal. It is in good original condition with some wear consistent with its age and use.
