Early 1900's, classic Thonet style bentwood cafe chairs by Mundus and J. & J. Kohn. Mundus was a furniture manufacturing company that operated in various locations across the Austro-Hungarian Empire during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Their furniture was made from bentwood, a technique that the company had pioneered. Mundus merged with J. & J. Kohn in 1914 and then merged again with Gebrüder Thonet in 1922. The combined company continued to manufacture furniture under the Thonet name. These chairs are from before the merge with Thonet and are in original condition with age appropriate wear.
