Pilastro 2 Section Wall Shelving Unit with Cabinet and Light

Coen de Vries (attr) / Pilastro / Netherlands

Dutch Mid-Century, Pilastro produced, enameled metal wall unit with shelves. Made in the 1950s, this unit includes five gray, red, and black enameled metal shelves, a black enameled light feature, a perforated white basket, and a gray metal cabinet with white drawers and a red enameled sliding door.  Amsterdam-based Pilastro hired a number of well-known designers in the 1950s and 60s, including Dirk van Sliedregt, Coen de Vries, Friso Kramer, and—most importantly—Tjerk Reijenga. This group of designers was well-known for their aesthetically pleasing, minimalistic yet always practical designs. There is some age-appropriate wear, some scratching, and some enamel loss on this unit. The risers might vary from the ones in the picture, but are all in a similar original state.
