Pilastro Unit with Desk, Cabinet and Lamp

This wall unit, a unique Dutch Mid-Century piece, was manufactured by Pilastro and features a wood desk with a laminate top, a wood cabinet with wood sliding doors, a red perforated basket, and a blue enameled light with a little girl decal. The built in light uses candelabra bulbs. A leading force in post-war design Amsterdam-based Pilastro employed many famous designers in the 1950s and 1960s. On its roster were design luminaries such as Coen de Vries, Friso Kramer, Dirk van Sliedregt, and most importantly, Tjerk Reijenga. The company was highly regarded and known for their attractively minimalist yet highly functional designs. This unit has age-appropriate wear, some enamel loss and scratching, and a bowed shelf. No manufacturer tags or stamps. Also shown with a Rare Early Edition Friso Kramer Revolt Chair, set of 6 available (S231 RD).
