Dutch Blue Glazed Space Age Ceramic Table Lamp by Ravelli
Jaap Ravelli / Ravelli / Netherlands
Mid-Century Dutch blue glazed ceramic table lamp with cut-outs and fun red shade. Jaap Ravelli (1916–2011), a Dutch ceramicist, is well known for the modern, minimalist ceramics with organic shapes and matte glazes created by his studio in the 1950s and 1960s. His pieces have a distinctly Dutch flair while also drawing inspiration from the Scandinavian design trends of the time. His output of bowls, plates, and vases usually combines flashes of vivid color that handsomely contrast with muted hues like browns, whites, and grays. To this day, Ravelli's work remains to be held in high regard. In original condition with visible wear consistent with its age and use. Base height: 16.75”. It retains its original EU socket. The lamp has been tested, and a US plug has been added. Another very similar lamp is available and listed separately (L269).
