"Cleopatra" Narrow Daybed with Castro Silver Mattress and Matching Bolster

Widely renowned Dutch designer A.R. Cordemeijer created this lovely, Mid-century, narrow "Cleopatra" daybed for the Royal Auping company in the 1960s. The bed's design was intended to complement the sleeker, contemporary bedroom that became popular with the burgeoning Modernist style movement, and with its contrasting teak ends and sleek black enameled metal frame Cordemeijer achieved that goal in an impeccably stylish way. Castro silver upholstered mattress and bolster included. Frame is in original condition with some visible wear, consistent with its age and use.
