W. H Gispen for Giso "Slider" Lamp
Willem Hendrik Gispen, who founded the Gispen firm, is the creator of this lamp which was first sold in the 1930s. Then, in the 1960s, it was relaunched as part of the GISO line. The top portion is movable up and down the metal vertical arm. The Dutch name is Schuivertje, which means "little Slider" in English. The thick, white frosted glass cilinder that produces a cozy illumination when lighted is hidden by the green metal components. The distance between the two metal pieces can be changed to allow more or less light to pass through.
