'Model 4312' loveseat or daybed designed by Børge Mogensen for Fredericia Stolefabrik. Børge Mogensen, 1914-1972, Danish furniture architect. After an apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker, Børge Mogensen was educated in 1936-42 at the School of Crafts (Denmark's School of Design) and the Academy of Fine Arts' furniture school. In 1950, Børge Mogensen opened his own design studio. This has a solid natural oak frame with continuous square legs and feet and new cushions with castro beige textured cotton upholstery. Gorgeous design, lightly refinished with some remaining visible wear. Wear is consistent with its age and use.
