Ornate Tyrolean Style Brutalist Dining Chairs

Poland

Brutalist, late 1960s, Tyrolean style pine chairs with decorative hand carved backrests. Named after the Tyrol in the Alps, a historic region encompassing Austria, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland. Because of its remote location, a unique style of furniture emerged, known for its folky and whimsical shapes. These chairs are lightly refinished, in otherwise original condition with visible wear consistent with their age and use. Sold individually. Other similar chairs available and listed separately (S527OB).
