Stunning mosaic slate coffee table with banded metal frame. Extremely heavy, inlaid mixed slate pieces. Designed in the style of Dutch artist and designer Paul Kingma who designed mosaic stone coffee table with embedded mixed materials, stone and metal fragments. Kingma saw his tables as “a tableau, a self-contained design that can be used as a table afterwards" and stated that his goal was "... to create a tableau that ignores fashion, does not age or wear out and serves for years to come. Or longer". This piece, a testament to that goal is in original condition with some minor wear, including scratching to the stone and frame as well as minimal grout loss or loosening. Wear is consistent with age and use.
