Ate Van Apeldoorn Simple Pine Console Table or Desk

Ate van Apeldoorn / Netherlands

Mid-Century pine table, console or desk by Ate van Apeldoorn. Square shaped legs. Lightly refinished pine. Van Apeldoorn's style was influenced by the organic design movement, which featured simple, functional forms. His furniture was frequently constructed using traditional wooden joints such as tenons and mortises, rather than nails or screws. Van Apeldoorn remained an independent craftsman throughout his career, refusing to mass-produce his works. He always emphasized the quality of his furniture and the longevity of his materials. This table, a gorgeous example of his craft, is in good original condition with some remaining visible wear consistent with its age and use.
