Gorgeous Mid-Century blown glass Model L 63 ceiling pendant by Alessandro Pianon (1931-1984) for the acclaimed Venetian glass maker Vistosi. Alessandro Pianon was born in 1931 in Venice, Italy. He started working at Vetreria Vistosi in 1956 after graduating from the city's School of Architecture. At Vistosi he created a number of vases, bottles, and lamps. Highlight in his body of work is the remarkable "Pucini" series of ornamental glass birds (1962). This large red Murano glass pendant with brass accent hardware, designed in the same period, has an undeniably eye catching presence and style. It is in good original condition with light wear, consistent with age and use.
