After designing objects and furniture in silver for over a decade, Pergay embraced stainless steel in 1967, an unconventional, new material that quickly became her signature. Even though other designers had created furniture from stainless steel, Maria Pergay was the first to treat it as a refined material and capitalize on its inherent beauty. Her work demonstrates unwavering dedication to the material. This sconce features a stainless steel shade and black enameled metal stem and is in original condition with some visible scratches, no markings.
