After studying sculpture at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (1949), Jan Snoeck (1927-2018) spent a number of years working as a sculptor in the Netherlands. Over time, his love of clay developed in the early 1960s. Soft shapes and primary colors were hallmarks of Snoeck's art and are on vivid display in this piece. The artist continued to work, alternating between France and the Netherlands, until his death in 2018.
