"LC1 Basculant" Sling Chair by Le Corbusier, Perriand and Jeanneret

Le Corbusier / Perriand / Jeanneret / Cassina / Italy

"LC1 Basculant" sling chair by Le Corbusier, Perriand and Jeanneret. Chrome plated tubular steel frame with moveable back. Back, armrests and seat in leather. Cousins, friends, and architectural collaborators Pierre Jeanneret and Le Corbusier created the design in 1929. Two years before, the two had begun a partnership with young architect Charlotte Perriand, which continued until 1937 and produced impressive achievements, especially in the area of furniture design. These chairs are part of a signed edition, numbers are 35030 and 35031. Frames are in original condition with visible wear consistent with their age and use. Some of the tri-colored hair on cowhide upholstery has been replaced or patched and repaired on the back. Two available, sold individually.
