1970s California Craftsman extendable walnut dining table by Gerald McCabe. This uniquely designed table is as adaptable as it is lovely due to its elegant (and extremely clever) construction, which allows for the addition or removal of outer leaves to accommodate more or fewer seats. Gerald McCabe (1927-2010) was born in Long Beach, California. After spending the nineteen fifties designing for a variety of companies McCabe designed and produced his own lines under the names Erin Furniture and Orange Crate Modern in the 1960s and 70s. This table, from that era, is a wonderful testament to McCabe's expert woodworking skills combined with his unique design sensibilities. In original condition with some age appropriate signs of usage and wear.
