Mid-Century Jasba Ceramic "Rumtopf" Jar with Relief Pattern and Red Lid

Beautiful Jasba "Rumtopf", a drink dispenser for what is essentially a traditional alcoholic fruit punch. Will serve as soup, cookie, or other decorative jar. Marked '4120 20-42' on bottom. Hails from what is regarded as the golden age of ceramics, 1950s-1970s. A highly collectable piece. German ceramics manufacturer Jasba Keramik is known for experimental and exploratory glazes, shapes, colors, and forms. They employed distinctive styles ranging from more traditional Mid-Century, volcanic textured, Fat Lava to engobe, a clay based finish. Piece is in original condition with wear consistent with age and use.
