B&O Cona Passive Subwoofer (in MOMA) and Speakers
David Lewis / Bang & Olufsen / Denmark
The Beovox Cona, designed in beautifully austere fashion by David Lewis and now permanently in the MOMA collection, was the first B&O subwoofer loudspeaker. It was specifically intended for use with the Beovox CX 50 and CX 100 miniature loudspeakers, to boost the bass sound in situations where the positioning of the loudspeakers meant that this would otherwise be lacking. The Beovox CX50 and Beovox CX100 loudspeakers (also by Lewis) were the smallest loudspeakers from Bang & Olufsen up to the time that the manufacture of passive speakers ceased in 2002.
