Mid-Century Femme mannequin by Vitra. Known for their partnership with design greats like Charles and Ray Eames and Verner Panton, Vitra was founded by Erika and Willi Fehlbaum, and began as a shopfitting business before producing furniture. Model made mostly from felt-lined plaster with metal parts, styrofoam and metal base. The form can move and flex in a huge variety of ways, for example, the little spines on the lower half can extend and be moved for forming the skirt shape. In original condition with wear consistent with age and heavy use including chipping to plaster.
