1954 Signed Abstract Lithograph 8/16 AP

Abstract lithograph signed "Baker" and dated 1954, numbered 8/16 AP. Titled the "Sewing Machine", the print features dense biomorphic and totemic imagery executed in black ink on white paper, with an irregular hand-drawn border surrounding the composition. Stylistically, the work resembles artworks by Wilfredo Lam, whose synthesis of Surrealism, Cubism, and Afro-Caribbean visual tradition was at its height during the early 1950s. Condition is very good, consistent with age.
