Italian Post-Modern, Memphis cherry red "Synthesis" office chair. Designed by internationally acclaimed designer Ettore Sottsass for Olivetti, the company where Sottsass began his design career. This pioneering piece was made as part of the "Synthesis 45" line in the 1970s and is outfitted with a Memphis red ABS plastic shell seat mounted on a matching metal swivel base. The minimalist design made the Synthesis 45 concept was so successful that it was quickly taken up by many other office furniture manufacturers. Chair is in original condition with some age appropriate signs of usage and wear.
